Gender Pay Gap Reporting

Brand Tastic 25th May 2017

In a bid to tackle pay inequality amongst UK organisations and to ultimately close the gender pay gap, as of 5th April 2017, the Government requires all UK organisations with 250 or more employees to publicly report their gender pay gap figures. This includes gender pay differences for overall salary and bonus payments.

Employers will need to calculate the relevant data for the pay period covering 5th April 2017 although first gender pay gap reporting figures are not required to be submitted until 4th April 2018. Employers can, however, publish this information at any time prior to 4th April 2018 if they wish. Organisations that fall under the scope of these regulations will be required to report their gender pay reporting figures each subsequent year on the same date.

Employers may wish to consider conducting a ‘dummy run’ of their gender pay reporting prior to 5th April 2017 to gain an understanding of their data and to potentially act upon any significant figures prior to the first official reporting date.

If you require assistance on how to report your gender pay gap figures, please get in touch today.
